Old McDonalds

Once, in the car, Kenley said "Mommy, can we go to Old McDonalds for lunch?"

A lot of cuteness

Over the past few days, Kenley has said several things that have made us smile.

She went with Kim to see Bud in the hospital after his hip surgery. They rode the elevator up to his floor. When later asked what they rode in, Kenley said "an elegator."

Where we live now, we have to drive by the airport on a regular basis to get to some places. Over the past weekend, we went to get haircuts for Kim and Kenley and as we went by the airport, there was a plane parked by some hangars. Kenley asked us why the plane wasn't blastoffing.

Kenley loves stuffed animals. Her favorite is her "baby penguin." It's the one animal that will bring tears if another kid, including Chase, plays with it. Lately, she has also been playing with a couple frog stuffed animals. One is quite old. I believe Kim had it when she was younger. It is a pretty big stuffed animal. The other one is smaller and Chase usually plays with it. Well, now that Kenley has started playing with them, she calls them tree frogs. We aren't sure if she picked that up on one of our trips to the zoo or if she learned it from watching Go Diego Go. Probably from watching Diego. Also, the bigger one is the daddy tree frog while the smaller one is the baby, of course.

Lastly, on the way to daycare this week, Chase sneezed. Kim and I will usually say "bless you" when the kids sneeze. But I didn't say anything at first this time. So Kenley chimed in and said "excuse me, Chasey."

Big Man

We always read Kenley books before bedtime. She lays in bed and at least one, but usually both, of us lays in bed with her while we read. One day, a few weeks ago, I was laying on the bed, waiting for Kim and Kenley to come in there. Kim said there was a big man on Kenley's bed. Now, Kenley has been saying it. And I love it. I'll go in there early just to be sure she'll say it. Then, she comes in and, for some reason, says "man" with a little accent. Also, she says it in this sweet little voice.

"There's a big mee-ann in my bed"

How do you get there?

Somehow Kenley knows about Disney World and occasionally when you ask here where we are going she will say Disney World. The other day I asked her how we get there and she answered "You go over the mountain, over the bridge, and (pause) over the rainbow!" She must really believe this one since we have asked her a few more times and the answer is the same. I'm just worried we'll end up in OZ instead :)

Bedtime

Lately, Kim has been getting mad at Kenley and I because we tend to play quite a bit right at bedtime. So instead of her calming down, Kenley peps up and wants to play. Well, tonight, after hearing Kim say it wasn't play time, Kenley looked me right in the eyes, with a very serious face and said "It's not play time."

Toothbrush talk

Kenley,

Today you had the toothbrushes talk to each other ;) It went something like this, "HI, How are you today friend?" "Good." You even moved them as you made each one talk. So Silly! Daddy even laughed from the other room.

Love,
MOM

Car rides

Kenley says some cute things in the car. This morning Clay called me to tell me he wanted to remember this:

Usually Kenley tries to reach over to Chase. This morning Chase actually got his hand out to her and she grabbed his finger. Then Kenley said, "Hold on Chasey buddy!"

Really? Another blog?

Okay so yes, I'm starting another blog but it's not what you think. My main focus will still be on my blog and that will be where I still share our lives in full the same as I always have or at least always try to do. (Yes, I've been behind lately.) This one is just a blog where Clay and I can make quick posts to remember things that the kids say or do. Things that make us laugh or even maybe things that frustrate us like crazy. Maybe even a letter or note to them here or there when the mood strikes. We had considered a notebook but you always have to carry that around so we thought something digital would be better. It should be quick and easy to post in theory.  We don't expect anyone really to read it (besides us) and there prob won't really ever be pictures but it should provide for some good stories and maybe a laugh or two!
